Operating from 12 sites across Derbyshire and Yorkshire, SDL Minorfern employee 300 people, have a fleet of 130 vehicles and make c1,000,000 deliveries each year. The Head of Finance will report to the Owner and must be able to bring additional technical and commercial bandwidth to the Senior Management Team whilst also retaining a very hands-on familiarity with the financial detail of the company.

You must ensure the financial systems, in this high-volume transactional environment, are robust and your meaningful analysis of the numbers will allow for more effective partnering across all levels of the business.

This role will have a direct impact on the bottom line by increasing internal efficiencies and facilitating a rapid and rigorous assessment of opportunities for profitable growth.

The successful candidate will have a broad but stable background with experience in a fast moving, multi-site operation. Over and above the financial responsibilities, you’ll have strong IT skills, be well versed in data analysis and have a track record of driving continuous improvement.

Most importantly you’ll be an energetic, genuine, and honest person with a good sense of humour who can fit in quickly and build effective relationships across this privately owned SME.
