This successful, North Yorkshire, business has seen significant growth in recent years. The shareholders are now focusing on their long term future and this will likely involve a change in ownership within the next 5 years.

Getting to that point will require better financial systems and controls along with much more insightful Management Information. These changes will increase the range of financing options available to the business and subsequently accommodate the ambitions of the senior team.

The FC's role will be to help define and implement the financial plan before eventually transitioning into the role of Finance Director.

Beyond the technical competencies (ACA, ACCA or ACMA qualification is a must) the success of this appointment will hinge on the personality of the candidate, their interest in the business and their ability to challenge and influence the Owners whilst maintaining positive and trusted relationships.

It would perhaps be easier to recruit an experienced FD but in the early days, much of their skillset would be unused. Instead, we are looking for someone who is less experienced but still has the strength of character ambition and tenacity to grow on the journey with this business.
